  • Minimalna liczba uczestników: 2
  • Czas trwania: 2h

A tour of the Young City showing the metamorphosis of the shipyard areas, with industrial icons of today’s Gdańsk and the finale on Gradowa Hill.

Discover the most fascinating transformation of contemporary Gdańsk on a tour of the Young City. This route leads through the heart of the former shipyard area, where the industrial spirit of the past blends with modern design and a vibrant alternative culture. Passing majestic shipyard cranes and the historic halls where „Solidarity” was born, you’ll experience the austere atmosphere of the former port, now transformed into luxury apartments, atmospheric cafes, and art centers. This is the perfect option for those who want to feel the pulse of a modern city, see monumental industrial structures up close, and understand how the historic shipyard space is becoming a new, stylish showcase for Gdańsk.

💡Additional information: How to prepare for the trip?

We want you to focus solely on the views and the joy of the ride. Here are a few practical tips to help you prepare for our shared adventure.

🚲Your equipment

  • Bike Condition: We deliver a bike that’s in good working order and ready to ride. For your comfort, carefully adjust the saddle height. It’s best to try it a few times to find the optimal setting. It also doesn’t hurt to check that the brakes are working properly and that the tire pressure is correct. If you have any concerns about your bike, let us know – we’ll help. A functioning bike equals your comfort.
  • Helmet: Your safety is our priority. Helmets are mandatory on all our routes.

👕What to wear? (The „layers” rule)

The weather can be fickle, so dressing in layers is best:

  1. Base: Thermal T-shirt that wicks away sweat.
  2. Mid Layer: Cycling jersey or light fleece.
  3. Protection: Rain jacket/windbreaker (even if the forecast calls for sunshine!).
  4. Bottom: Comfortable shorts with a gel insert will significantly increase your comfort over longer distances.

It is important that you feel good and comfortable.

🎒What to pack in your backpack?

We have prepared a must-have list so that nothing will surprise you:

  • Water and food: Minimum 1.5 liters of fluids and energy snacks (bars, bananas, nuts).
  • Repair kit: A basic multitool, a spare inner tube that fits your wheel and a pump – the guide will take care of this if you decide to go on a tour led by our guide.
  • Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and mosquito and tick repellent.
  • Powerbank: So you can take photos and use the map all day long.

🚩Difficulty level and pace

Our trips are recreational in nature, not racing.

Remember: We ride in a group, adjusting our pace to the participants’ abilities. If the route requires a higher level of fitness (e.g., numerous climbs), we clearly indicate this in the difficulty level icon next to the tour heading.

🛡️Insurance and documents

We recommend carrying an ID card. Each participant participates in our tours at their own risk. Typically, each of us has third-party liability insurance through private insurance. It’s worth checking if this applies to you.

🚦Safety and traffic rules

During our trips we travel on public roads, bicycle paths and forest trails.

  • Regulations: Each participant is obliged to comply with current road traffic regulations.
  • Riding in a group: We keep a safe distance from the bike in front and signal turning and braking maneuvers.
  • Sobriety: It is strictly forbidden to participate in the tour under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.

🤝Cycling Savoir-Vivre (Culture on the Trail)

  • Smile and greet: It’s a pleasant custom to greet other cyclists on bike trails. A quick „Hi” or „Good morning” creates a great atmosphere!
  • Respect for pedestrians: Remember that pedestrians have the right of way on pedestrian and bike paths. Always leave a good distance between you and pedestrians and ring your bell in good time (but sensitively!).
  • „No Trace” Principle: We take with us everything we bring. We don’t litter at rest stops and we care for nature.
  • Helping others: If you see someone on the trail with a breakdown, ask if they’re okay. We always support each other on our trips.
  • During an expedition, we don’t turn off our thinking. We think about the group of people, not just ourselves.
  • On climbs, everyone rides at their own pace. If there’s a long climb and someone falls behind, we wait for the last rider to clear and then we set off together.
  • Most of all, we have fun.

Have any additional questions? Don’t hesitate to write or call us. We’re happy to advise you on technical issues and help you resolve any doubts!
